Product description

Røde VideoMic Video Microphone with RYCOTE Shockmount

The Red VideoMic with Rycote Shockmount is a shotgum microphone that can easily be mounted on a DSLR camera.

The microphone features a Rycote suspension system that is attached to the camera's hotshoe. The Red VideoMic is lightweight, and when mounted on a camera, it does not come to light. The VideoMic can also be mounted on Red's Tree Pool for sound recordings from above. The supercardiographic pattern dampens the sides of the sides. The result is a signal that sounds closer to the camera, even when shooting in a noisy environment or at slightly longer distances.

The included Rycote Lyre is a non-elastic suspension made of a wear-resistant plastic. This suspension is more effective in acoustically disconnecting microphones from unwanted vibrations, operating sounds or sounds of the microphone cable than elastic suspensions. The Lyre remains effective at different temperatures and is virtually indestructible.

The supplied spiral cable has a 3.5mm mini jack for connection to a DSLR camera. The VideoMic features a capacitor element powered by a standard 9 volt battery (sold separately). The battery life is about 100 hours.

Red Ice has now become one of the leading microphone producer and supplier. The microphones are designed and produced in Australia at their own Red Factory. Modern production methods ensure that the microphones meet a very high quality standard and the production costs remain low. As a result, RED microphones are highly priced and qualitatively comparable to much more expensive microphones in the market.
