This Rotalux softbox from Elinchrom has a rectangular shape (90x110cm), is easy to set up and is often used in portrait photography or product photography.

Because this softbox is rectangular, it is very easy to aim and position so that it can be used as fill light, but also suffices just as main light. This softbox can also be used as the main light thanks to the rectangular shape, without the reflection in the eyes being perceived as unnatural.

The easy mounting Rotalux system is probably the most widely copied of all Softbox systems. However, it is easier to copy a design than a quality and they remain the best units in their class. What continues to make the Elinchrom units unique are the sets of deflectors - gold, silver and translucent that enable the softness / hardness and colour to be modified; fitting centrally over the flashtube at your chosen distance.
