The Nitrotech 12 video head from Manfrotto is loadable from 4 to 12 kg (@ 55 mm COG) and attractive to all filmmakers who use larger rigs, such as; Ursa Mini Pro, VariCam LT, Canon EOS C300 MKII, Red Scarlet, Red Epic, Sony FS7 II and the Arri Alexa Mini. etc.The dimensions (H = 14.8 cm) and the weight (2.27 kg) of the N12 do not differ from the N8, which means that the N12 is slightly lighter than the FSBFSB 10 from Sachtler, which can be loaded with the same weight. .
The main difference in operation is the raster: the Sachtler (= fast) versus the continuous damping and counterweight in Manfrotto, which can be better adjusted, but takes more time.
Compared to the N8, Manfrotto has worked on a few details of the N12: the camera plate on the N12 is longer, the brake wheel is larger dimensioned and real screws of 3/8 inch are now included and not adapters. And remember: the N12 comes with a 100 mm half scale instead of a 75 mm scale, which should better match the specified load capacity
